# Explore trends and start a discussion

> Authorize NewsBing, browse overall and platform trends, and find topics for your account.

Open **Hotspots** in Beav's left navigation. The first visit shows no rankings until you authorize NewsBing.

## Connect NewsBing

Click **Go to Authorization**, sign up or sign in to NewsBing in your browser, then choose **Authorize Beav**. The page attempts to return to the desktop app; you do not need to copy an API key. If the return fails, copy the authorization link shown on the page and use the fallback link on Beav's Hotspots page. It must belong to the current, unexpired request.

## Browse rankings

The main list opens on **For Me**. Beav estimates relevance from the current workspace's account profile and combines it with popularity. Scores and stars help you choose topics; hover or focus the score to see its popularity and relevance components. Relevance is estimated from the title and account profile, so it does not verify the event. Switch to **Overall Popularity** for NewsBing's original order.

Platform cards show trends from individual platforms. Select a trend in the main list to bring related platform cards forward and highlight them; select it again to clear the selection. Open a source or platform entry to read the original page.

Hover over a trend to reveal **Discuss with AI**; choose it to start a chat with the trend and its available sources. Read the source before relying on specific claims, especially when an original page is unavailable.

When 3–4 platforms cover the same trend, an orange **Rising** tag appears before its title; 5 or more platforms show a red **Viral** tag.

The main list title shows when the rankings were updated. The page displays the last successful result while refreshing in the background; use the refresh icon on the right of the window title bar to request an update immediately. If refresh fails, the previous result remains visible and may be out of date.

## Manage access

Use the more menu on the right of the window title bar to open **Manage Authorization** and revoke the key in NewsBing. **Disconnect** removes the local connection and cached rankings for this Beav account. To invalidate the key on every device, revoke it in NewsBing as well. If authorization expires, revoke the old key and authorize again.
